This magazine has used a contrast of light and dark, a feature typical in rock magazines and a feature that represents the rock genre. As rock magazines are regularly read by teenagers the double page spread has included features that help reach out to them. feature like the use of a large image with text tidy to the left, a feature that helps teenager use the double page as a poster perhaps. Plenty of picture of the featured band are used so that the reader is not bombarded with reading. Further more the text box in front of James Hetfield brings a different unique feature to the double page spread and invites the reader to read on. Light is shone upon james so that i is clear he is the main singer of the band aswell as the fact that he is the bigger picture compared to Lars Ulrich who is in a small picture at the bottom.
In this issue of kerrang they have used a feature typical of double page spreads, having the main picture to one side and taking up half of the other page with text on the other side. Again there is a contrast of light and dark in the magazine representing the rock genre. The text used is not too much and appeals to the audience with the odd piece of text of the picture to help keep the audience interested. The position of the band member make them look spaced out and not squashed together, this as a result helps retain some prestige of the magazine.

Once again, in this Double page spread has used a typical style of rock magazines, with he contrasts of light and dark. This double page however has a text and picture which take up equal side of the double page spread and doesn't lap into one another. this magazine however emphasises on text rather than pictures showing that its audience is more of the middle aged rock audience and not teenagers. The focus of the man rather than the surroundings emphasises the dark serene look of the magazine.
